Pylon signs are tall, freestanding signs mounted on one or two poles, designed to provide high visibility from a distance. Commonly installed along busy roads and commercial corridors, pylon signage helps businesses and properties stand out and remain easy to find.
At MiniMax Media, we design and install custom pylon signs built for visibility, durability, and long-term outdoor performance.
What Is a Pylon Sign?
A pylon sign is an elevated exterior sign created to attract attention from passing traffic. Its height makes it ideal for locations set back from the road, surrounded by other buildings, or positioned in high-traffic areas where ground-level signage may not be effective.
How Pylon Signs Are Typically Used
Pylon signs are most effective when:
- Multiple businesses or tenants need to be displayed
- Long-distance visibility from roads or highways is required
- The property entrance is not immediately visible
- The goal is to attract passing vehicle traffic
They act as roadside identifiers, guiding drivers toward a location well before they reach the entrance.
How This Differs from Monument Signs
While monument signs are ground-level and typically identify a single business or property, pylon signs are taller and commonly used for multi-tenant or high-traffic locations, prioritizing height and distance visibility over entrance-level design.
Modern & Custom Pylon Sign Design
Our pylon sign design options are tailored to the site and branding requirements and may include:
- Small pylon signs for compact properties
- Multi-tenant directory pylons
- Single or double-sided sign faces
- Illuminated or non-illuminated designs
Each custom pylon sign is designed to balance visibility, readability, and structural integrity.
